The Queen’s Award for enterprise is divided into three categories:
Businesses must be able to show that they have substantially improved in areas of performance and commercial success.
Businesses must be able to show that they have substantially engaged with sustainable development. This includes any activity which ‘ensures a better quality of life for everyone, now and for generations to come’.
Businesses must be able to show that they have achieved substantial growth in overseas earnings and in commercial success for their business size and sector.
REIDsteel has earned our Queen’s Award in International Trade, which recognises and encourages outstanding achievements in overseas earnings by UK businesses. REIDsteel has exported to over 130 countries in our 90 year history. We work hard to share our skills and knowledge in countries with limited infrastructure and look to enter emerging markets across the globe. Our ‘glocal’ approach to business assisted our 4 time Queen’s Award success.
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are awarded to British businesses and organisations that excel at international trade, innovation or sustainable development. REIDsteel are delighted at the royal recognition of our business and also support the overall celebration of British enterprise.
After working hard all year to qualify for the competition, a three-stage judging process begins. From a judging panel, to the Prime Minister’s Advisory Committee, Her Majesty The Queen is the last person to review entrees and decides the winners. The benefits of winning the award include worldwide recognition, extensive press coverage and industry respect.
All winners find out about their achievement on the 21st April (the Queen’s birthday) and receive a reception with Her Majesty at Buckingham Palace, a grant of appointment and a presentational item. We know from experience how exciting this is and look forward to entering the Award in the near future.
